Looking for an apprenticeship in construction?

Read our guide below

Our top 5 tips for finding an apprenticeship

1

Check out the Apprenticeships website, here you can view vacancies in your local area: Visit the Government Apprenticeships Website here

2

Go to the builders’ merchants in your local area and speak to tradespeople as they visit. They may consider taking you on or they may know of someone looking for an apprentice.

3

Create a letter and give it out to tradespeople as they visit the suppliers.

4

Offer to do a work trial, this works as a taster session for you and shows the employer how you fit in.

5

Find a training provider for your chosen trade, tell them what you want to do, they may know firms looking for an apprentice. See who covers your area here.

It could be a long slog but it proves you’re driven, confident and have initiative and the ability to communicate with others – these are skills employers will look for.
